WHY "BORN A NERD"?

Some people discover technology. Some of us never had a choice. Born A Nerd Technologies exists because the founder has been taking systems apart to see how they work since before it was a career option, and eventually decided to make it official with an incorporation.

Born A Nerd Technologies Inc. is an independent software and infrastructure consultancy based in Toronto, Canada. It was founded by Milad Ghorashi, a principal systems engineer and architect with more than 20 years in production infrastructure: systems administration, systems engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, and SRE, across cloud, data, and application stacks. The company brings that experience to organizations that need senior engineering without the overhead of a big consultancy.

We stay deliberately small. When you work with Born A Nerd, the person who scoped your project is the person who builds it, and the person who answers when something needs attention afterwards.

  Covering every aspect and every little detail is not perfectionism, it is what production requires. The incidents live in the corners nobody looked at.

• WHY BEFORE HOW

  We do not implement anything we cannot explain. Understanding the problem from several angles comes before the first line of code or Terraform.

• PRODUCTION MEANS THE WHOLE PICTURE

  A deliverable is not done until availability, monitoring, alerting, logging, and documentation are addressed. "It works on my machine" is not a milestone.

• REPEATABLE AND DOCUMENTED

  Everything we build can be rebuilt: infrastructure as code, runbooks, and maintenance processes your team can follow without us in the room.

• NO REINVENTED WHEELS

  If a stable, well-supported solution already exists, we use it. Custom code is a liability we take on only when it earns its keep.

• AI WITH GUARDRAILS

  We use AI heavily and enthusiastically, and we never let it make up your numbers. Deterministic data, AI drafting, human review. In that order.
